Washington, D.C. – U.S. President Donald Trump delivered his first speech to Congress in his second term, declaring, “America is back.” His address focused on the economy, inflation, border security, and foreign relations.
Trump Vows to Fix the Economy and Fight Inflation
Trump highlighted economic concerns as a top priority, blaming the previous administration for rising energy costs and inflation.
“Among my highest priorities is saving our economy and providing dramatic and immediate relief to working families. We inherited an economic disaster and an inflation nightmare. Energy prices have soared, food costs have skyrocketed, and millions of Americans are struggling like never before. Inflation is at its highest in nearly 50 years. As President, I will fight every day to undo this damage,” Trump stated.

Congressional Tensions and Impeachment Order
During the speech, Democratic Rep. Al Green of Texas interrupted Trump, criticizing proposed cuts to Medicaid. His comments led to a heated response from House Speaker Mike Johnson, who ordered Green’s impeachment.
Green voiced concerns over healthcare cuts, stating:
“The president has no mandate to cut Medicaid. Many Americans rely on it as their only healthcare option.”
Executive Orders on Border Security and Government Spending
Trump also outlined several executive actions, including:
– Declaring a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border.
– Deploying the U.S. military and border patrol to deter illegal crossings.
– Freezing federal hiring across all agencies.
– Halting foreign aid spending upon returning to office.

Trump on Russia, Ukraine, and Greenland
Trump signaled potential peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, suggesting an opportunity for negotiations.
“We have received signals that Russia is seeking peace, and I have conveyed to Zelensky that a new deal could be possible,” Trump said.
Additionally, Trump reaffirmed his interest in Greenland and the Panama Canal, emphasizing their strategic importance to the U.S.:
“Tonight, I have a message for the people of Greenland. We strongly support your right to decide your future, and when you do, you are welcome in the United States.”
Trump’s Fast-Paced Administration
Donald Trump concluded by highlighting his administration’s rapid actions, boasting that:
“We have accomplished more in 43 days than most administrations do in four or eight years.”
So far, Trump has signed 76 executive orders, marking an aggressive policy push in his early days back in office.
