A former high-ranking Meta employee has come forward with shocking claims. She accuses the tech giant of aiding China at the expense of U.S. national security.
Sarah Wynn-Williams Testifies Before Senate
Sarah Wynn-Williams, once Facebook’s global policy director, testified before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee. She shared disturbing details about Meta’s past actions.

Meta Briefed China on Advanced U.S. Tech
According to Wynn-Williams, Meta began briefing Chinese officials in 2015. These meetings reportedly focused on emerging tech like artificial intelligence.
She claimed the goal was clear—help China surpass U.S. companies in the global tech race.
Project Aldrin: Meta’s Secret China Plan
Meta allegedly ran a secret program called “Project Aldrin.” The initiative aimed to gain access to China’s tech market. But according to Wynn-Williams, it wasn’t just business—it involved national compromise. She said the project helped China fast-track AI developments. This included military applications based on Meta’s LLaMA AI model.
Meta Allegedly Built Censorship Tools for China
Wynn-Williams also revealed another bombshell. In 2015, Meta reportedly developed a censorship system tailored for the Chinese government. In 2017, the company allegedly removed accounts of Chinese dissidents under pressure from Beijing.
Meta Gave CCP Access to User Data
Wynn-Williams said Meta gave the Chinese Communist Party access to user data. This included data belonging to Americans. She claimed only Congressional action stopped China from gaining further access through a U.S.-China data pipeline.
Meta Allegedly Misled Congress and Public
The former executive stated that Meta repeatedly lied. She said they misled employees, lawmakers, and the public about their work in China. Meta continued operating in China after 2014, despite denying it publicly. SEC filings reportedly show that China is now its second-largest market.
Whistleblower Faced Legal Retaliation
Wynn-Williams said she tried to hold the company accountable. She filed complaints with the SEC and DOJ. She also submitted a shareholder resolution, urging an internal investigation.
In response, Meta allegedly filed a lawsuit against her. A gag order now prevents her from discussing the issue with Congress.
Senator Hawley Calls Out Meta
Senator Josh Hawley criticized Meta during the hearing. He called the company’s actions a corporate cover-up.
“They gave China access to user data,” Hawley said. “They were willing to do anything for profits—even put Americans at risk.”
A Call for Accountability
Wynn-Williams ended her testimony with a powerful message. She urged lawmakers to act before more damage is done.
“The truth matters,” she said. “Meta sacrificed U.S. values and security to build a business in China. It must be held accountable.”

"Here, [Meta is] willing to build data centers, store data in China.
"They are willing explicitly to give the Chinese government access to it—& if that means American user data is also compromised, they're willing to do that." pic.twitter.com/dXjM3SQNay
