President Donald Trump has revoked access to classified information for several high-profile figures, including his past Democratic rivals Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton. The decision also affects multiple senior former officials.

Trump Expands Security Clearance Revocations
This move follows Trump’s earlier decision to strip his predecessor, Joe Biden, of security clearance in February. In a recent statement, he confirmed that the change extends to “every other member” of the Biden family.
“I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to have access to classified information,” Trump’s memo stated.
Key Figures Affected
Along with Harris and Clinton, former Secretary of State Anthony Blinken lost his clearance. Former Republican Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger were also on the list, as was Fiona Hill, a former Russia affairs adviser during Trump’s first term.
Traditionally, former U.S. presidents and senior national security officials relinquish their security clearances as a courtesy.

Previous Clearance Strips and Biden’s Move Against Trump
This isn’t Trump’s first action against past officials. He had already revoked security clearances for more than 40 former intelligence officers, accusing them of influencing the 2020 election in Biden’s favor.
In 2021, President Biden blocked Trump from accessing intelligence briefings, citing his “erratic behavior.”
