Former President Donald Trump has challenged President Joe Biden’s recent pardons. He called them “VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT.” Trump’s late-night Truth Social post questioned the legitimacy of pardons signed with an autopen.

Trump Slams Biden’s Use of Autopen
Trump argued that Biden did not personally authorize the pardons. He claimed the documents were processed without Biden’s knowledge. “The ‘Pardons’ that Sleepy Joe Biden gave… are hereby declared VOID… because they were done by Autopen,” Trump stated. He insisted Biden was unaware and did not approve them. Trump suggested that those responsible could face legal scrutiny. He accused the January 6 Committee of destroying evidence. He warned they might now face high-level investigations.
Autopen Scandal Raises Legal and Ethical Concerns
The controversy grew after The Oversight Project discovered Biden’s autopen-signed documents. Nearly all major documents bore his autopen signature. The only known exception was his statement about withdrawing from the 2024 race.
Investigators found that Biden’s autopen signed six pardons on December 30, 2022. At that time, Biden was vacationing in St. Croix. The documents, however, appeared signed in Washington, D.C. More pardons issued on January 19, 2025, showed identical autopen signatures. Recipients included family members, Dr. Anthony Fauci, General Mark Milley, and January 6 Committee members.
Biden’s Autopen Signatures Face Scrutiny
The Oversight Project identified two distinct autopen signatures:
- 16 signed with Autopen A
- 16 signed with Autopen B
- Only 19 with actual wet-ink signatures
Experts noticed subtle differences in the two autopen versions. The spacing of letters and Biden’s name styling varied. The New York Post later confirmed that Biden’s aides controlled his signature. Reports suggested they authorized documents without Biden’s direct approval.

White House Insider Reveals Disturbing Details
A former White House insider described Biden’s administration as a “puppet show.” The source claimed a senior aide controlled major decisions. “No one questioned them. They were, for all intents and purposes, the president,” the insider said. Concerns about Biden’s awareness of key decisions persisted throughout his term.
Calls for Investigation Into Biden’s Competency
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey demanded documents to assess Biden’s competency. Former First Lady Jill Biden allegedly downplayed concerns about his cognitive health. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre defended Biden’s mental sharpness. She dismissed criticism even after his poor debate performances.
Questions about Biden’s ability to govern and the legitimacy of his actions continue to grow. The autopen controversy could lead to deeper investigations and legal battles soon.
