President Donald Trump weighed in on the possibility of Kamala Harris entering the California governor’s race, saying she should take the opportunity.
“Let her run,” Trump, 78, stated in an interview with Clay Travis of OutKick on Saturday. Although he avoids offering political advice to rivals, he suggested Harris should increase her media presence if she decides to pursue the role.

Harris’ Future Political Moves
Trump noted that Joe Biden rarely gave interviews during the COVID-19 pandemic, which worked in his favor. However, he implied that Harris wouldn’t benefit from the same approach.
Since her defeat in November, Harris, 60, has been considering her next steps. Her options include a gubernatorial bid in 2026, another presidential campaign in 2028, or transitioning into a behind-the-scenes role within the Democratic Party.
With California Governor Gavin Newsom term-limited, the seat will be up for grabs, presenting Harris with a prime opportunity, as reported by the New York Post.

Harris’ Media Strategy Under Scrutiny
Since leaving office in January, Harris has largely stayed out of the public eye. She has made only a handful of appearances, including attending the NAACP Image Awards last month.
During the 2024 election, Harris took a cautious approach to media engagement, avoiding major interviews, including an invitation to appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast.
Meanwhile, Trump adopted an aggressive media strategy, frequently appearing on independent platforms. He sat down with various hosts, including Rogan, Theo Von, and Andrew Schulz, to connect with younger voters.
Trump’s Media Moves and Campaign Strategy
Trump credited his teenage son, Barron Trump, for helping him choose the right podcasts, which strengthened his outreach to younger demographics.
His running mate, Vice President JD Vance, also played a key role in the campaign. Vance frequently appeared on mainstream outlets to promote their policies and push back against Democratic narratives.
In contrast, Harris’ 2024 vice-presidential pick, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, later expressed frustration with their campaign’s media strategy. According to CNN, Walz wanted more public appearances in the final stretch of the race but was restricted by campaign decisions.
Reflecting on the election, Walz admitted that political strategies must evolve with changing dynamics. He warned against relying too heavily on past tactics instead of adapting to new challenges.
Caitlyn Jenner Weighs In
Caitlyn Jenner recently mocked Walz after he suggested conservatives feared his masculinity, quipping that she is “more masculine” than he is.
When asked who would win in a fight between Jenner and Walz, Trump laughed and responded, “Oh, Caitlyn Jenner all day long.”
Trump Reflects on His Return to the White House
During the interview, Trump also discussed his re-election, saying his return to the White House was proof of Democratic mismanagement in the years between his terms. He argued that his second presidency is stronger, with more allies, including figures from the tech industry.
