Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly recently sat down with Chris Cuomo on NewsNation and made a surprising revelation about Donald Trump and the unreleased Epstein files.
A Private Talk Between Trump and O’Reilly
When Cuomo asked about what many have called a mishandled release of the Epstein documents, O’Reilly responded by recalling a private one-on-one he had with Trump.
“We spoke on St. Patrick’s Day,” O’Reilly said. “It was just the two of us. Trump told me some of the people mentioned in those files had no real connection to Epstein’s crimes. Maybe they had lunch with him or sent a quick email. That’s it.”
Trump’s Fear: Ruining Innocent Lives
O’Reilly explained that Trump feared how the media might twist the story.
“He said, ‘If we dump everything without context, innocent people could get destroyed. The media won’t care about the details—they’ll just run the names and create a firestorm.’”
According to O’Reilly, Trump believes that protecting people from false assumptions is more important than scoring political points.
The Clip That Sparked Online Buzz
Soon after the interview aired, Bo Loudon—a close friend of Barron Trump—shared a clip of the exchange online, sparking new debates on social media.

Trump Said Something Similar Years Ago
This isn’t the first time Trump expressed hesitation. Back in a Fox & Friends interview before taking office, he was asked if he would release the JFK and Epstein files.
His answer about the JFK documents was clear: “Yes.” But when asked about the Epstein records, he paused.
“Yeah,” he said, “but less so—because if there’s phony stuff in there, it could ruin people’s lives.”
