The Arlington County Police Department received reports of numerous fights breaking out within the mall, leading officers to intervene. As tensions escalated, officials decided to close the shopping center to protect visitors and staff.

Injuries and Arrests Reported
During the chaos, a police officer and a mall security guard suffered minor injuries. Authorities detained three juveniles in connection with the incidents, with one requiring medical attention for minor wounds.
Heavy Police Presence at the Scene
According to ARL Now, multiple law enforcement agencies, including Metro Transit Police, Virginia State Police, and the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, assisted Arlington County officers in restoring order. Fights occurred on several levels of the mall, including the food court, before authorities dispersed the crowds.
Situation Under Control
By 7:30 p.m., police had secured the area, and medics were treating the injured officer, security guard, and at least one suspect. The mall remained closed for the rest of the evening as authorities continued their investigation.
