President Donald Trump made it clear on Sunday that he isn’t joking about the possibility of running for a third term, despite the U.S. Constitution prohibiting it. However, he admitted that it’s too soon to consider such a move.

Trump Addresses Speculation in NBC Interview
During a phone interview with NBC News, Trump directly addressed the idea of seeking a third term. His response left little room for doubt.
“No, I’m not joking. I’m serious,” Trump stated. “But it’s way too early to think about it.”
He also suggested there might be ways to make it happen, adding, “There are methods, as you know.” However, he did not provide further details.
Constitutional Limits on Presidential Terms
According to the 22nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, presidents can only serve two four-year terms, whether consecutive or not. Trump, who was inaugurated on January 20 for his second, non-consecutive term, has previously made vague comments about extending his time in office.
While the possibility of a third term remains legally blocked, Trump’s remarks are likely to fuel ongoing political discussions about his future ambitions.
