On Tuesday, Barcelona will submit a request to the Higher Sports Council (CSD) to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor in the Barça squad for the second half of the current season.
According to “Rádio Catalunya,” Barcelona will include a positive report prepared by the Spanish Football Federation, which could pave the way for the registration of Olmo and Víctor.
The Spanish Federation’s report highlights that the current regulations are outdated and that the General Assembly of the Federation, scheduled for next June, plans to amend these regulations.
The issue relates to Article 130.2 of the Spanish Football Federation’s general regulations, which states that a player can only be registered once with the same club, without the possibility of deregistering and re-registering with the same team during the same season.
As a result, Barcelona will request an urgent precautionary decision from the Higher Sports Council on Tuesday. This exceptional decision is usually made within 3 to 4 days.
If Barcelona’s request is approved, Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor could be eligible for the Spanish Super Cup final, provided Barça succeeds in overcoming Athletic Bilbao in the semifinals next Wednesday in Saudi Arabia.
