FBI Director Kash Patel delivered a commanding performance during his testimony on Capitol Hill, clashing with a Pennsylvania congresswoman over demands for an investigation into leaked military plans involving the Trump administration.

Jeffrey Goldberg’s Controversial Leak
Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic and a vocal critic of former President Trump, sparked outrage after claiming he was “accidentally” added to a secure Signal group chat. The chat, allegedly created by National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, involved Trump officials discussing military actions against Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen.
Rather than quietly exiting the conversation, Goldberg took screenshots and published them, attempting to expose the operation. He initially labeled the leaked discussions as “war plans” but later backtracked, calling them “attack plans.” The inconsistency raised suspicions and ultimately strengthened Team Trump’s stance that no classified war strategies were shared.
Congresswoman Pressures Patel to Investigate Leak
During a House intelligence hearing on Wednesday, Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) pressed Patel to open an FBI investigation into the leak. Her questioning, however, appeared more like an attempt to create political theater than a serious inquiry.
“Now that another day has passed, do you think it’s time for the FBI to open an investigation?” Houlahan asked.
Patel refused to take the bait. “I’m not going to comment on that,” he replied firmly.
Houlahan, seemingly caught off guard, pressed further. “Because you’re the director of the FBI, you don’t believe it’s appropriate to comment on that?”
Patel then explained the legal process to her. “There’s an ongoing review by the National Security Council, and I won’t discuss any active or closed investigations.”
Patel’s Epic Shutdown
Houlahan, visibly frustrated, argued that the review had just begun, implying that Patel should already have an opinion.
Patel, however, wasn’t having it. “No, it’s not,” he shot back. “I’m not going to prejudge any matter, and the men and women of the FBI will call the balls and strikes. Not you.”
As Houlahan attempted to reclaim her time, she realized it had run out—along with her argument. Patel’s expert handling of the situation left no room for debate.
This is the first time I read any of the articles. I thought the represented the truth.
