Former Trump administration staffer Miles Taylor, once known for anonymously writing anti-Trump pieces for liberal media as part of the so-called “resistance” inside the White House, has made headlines again.
Appearing on MSNBC, Taylor claimed that if Donald Trump returns to the Oval Office, he could begin arresting political opponents. His comments appeared aimed at alarming Democrats — but many see a double standard, given the political targeting that happened during Trump’s first term.
The Irony Behind Taylor’s Warning
During Trump’s presidency, it was his opponents who pushed investigations, staged public arrests, and conducted raids against him and his allies. One of the most memorable examples was the pre-dawn FBI raid on Roger Stone’s home, complete with media cameras on the scene.
Now, some of the same political figures and media voices who supported those actions are warning about similar tactics — but from the other side.
Taylor’s Claim: “This Is Not for Show”
In his MSNBC appearance, Taylor insisted he has not committed treason but painted a picture of a second Trump term where prominent Democrats could be targeted.
He suggested Trump’s supporters want to see figures like Attorney General Letitia James and Congressman Adam Schiff in handcuffs, with legal teams digging for even the smallest infractions to make their lives difficult.
According to Taylor, these actions would not be political theater, but a deliberate move to satisfy the MAGA base. He predicted that sooner or later, a major Democratic figure will be detained — a moment he called a “Rubicon” for American politics.
Critics argue that everything Taylor is warning about has already been done — to Trump and his allies. From legal investigations to media-driven spectacles, the playbook is familiar. The only difference now, they say, is who might be on the receiving end.
For many Americans, the fear-driven rhetoric rings hollow because the precedent was already set years ago.
