During President Donald Trump’s January 2025 inauguration, a short clip featuring Barron Trump quietly leaning toward former President Joe Biden spread rapidly across social media. In the video, Barron appears to whisper something to Biden, prompting a stunned look from the outgoing president.
That expression quickly fueled speculation, with online “lip readers” claiming Barron had delivered a harsh or sarcastic comment.
For days, the internet buzzed with theories — but now the truth is finally out.
In a recent interview with Megyn Kelly, Eric Trump addressed the moment directly and put the rumors to rest. He explained that Biden’s surprised expression had been widely misinterpreted, and that Barron had not said anything offensive at all. In fact, Eric emphasized that Barron is known within the family for being unusually polite and respectful.
Eric revealed that the discussion resurfaced during his appearance on the “PBD Podcast,” where host Patrick Bet-David asked whether Barron had possibly used a profanity, as many social media users suggested.
Eric laughed off the theory.
“He might think it, sure” Eric joked “But Barron is way too courteous to actually say something like that.”
Still curious, Eric said he later asked his younger brother personally to confirm what really happened in that viral moment.
“One night I asked him… Buddy, what did you actually say to Joe?” Eric recalled. “And what he told me was so polite I almost couldn’t believe it.”
According to Eric, Barron simply offered Biden a respectful message — something along the lines of “Congratulations, and I wish you the best.” No insult, no profanity, and nothing close to what online commentators had claimed.
What was portrayed as a dramatic exchange was, in reality, a brief moment of genuine courtesy from the youngest member of the Trump family.
