Two Bodies Found in JetBlue Plane’s Landing Gear at Fort Lauderdale Airport
JetBlue has confirmed that two bodies were discovered in the landing gear of one of its planes at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport during a routine maintenance check last night.
Investigation Underway
“The circumstances surrounding how they accessed the aircraft remain under investigation,” JetBlue stated. Authorities are now working to determine how the individuals managed to enter the aircraft’s landing gear compartment.
Similar Incident on Christmas Eve
This discovery comes less than two weeks after another body was found inside the wheel well of a United Airlines plane that landed in Hawaii on Christmas Eve.
The Risks of Stowing Away in Aircraft Compartments
Although details about the two individuals remain unclear, past cases have shown that stowaways sometimes hide in aircraft compartments in an attempt to board flights undetected. However, the extreme cold temperatures and lack of oxygen in these areas often make survival nearly impossible.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident as aviation security concerns grow.
