One of the greatest emperors who ruled the world is one of the greatest mysteries of all time. His tomb with many treasures was never found.
His name is Alexander The Great the Macedonian Emperor who fought many battles and won many wars. He came all far from Macedonia but conquered the whole Europe and Asia. After his death people tell many theories about his grave and where it’s located but not a single one was true. Many archeologists tried to encrypt this enigma but with no success.
A group of Polish archaeologists claim to have found the tomb of Alexander III of Macedon, also known as Alexander the Great, in Egypt. The tomb found is located in the Kom el-Diqa area in the heart of Alexandria, just 60 meters from the Nebi Daniel Mosque, where, according to traditional Arab belief, the tomb of the great military leader is located and where numerous excavations have been carried out so far.

The tomb, which was a famous pilgrimage site in ancient times, is believed to have been sealed and hidden in the third or fourth century AD to protect it from Christian destruction of pagan structures when the official religion in the Roman Empire changed.
According to historical tradition, the entire monument is a testimony to the multicultural nature of Alexander’s empire – a combination of artistic and architectural influences of Greek, Egyptian, Macedonian and Persian origin. Inscriptions in the mausoleum, mostly in ancient Greek and Egyptian, mention that it is dedicated to “King of Kings, Conqueror of the World, Alexander III.” A broken crystal sacrophag was found inside, probably damaged during the political unrest in Alexandria in 270 AD. In addition, 37 bones were found, most of which were broken or badly damaged and believed to have belonged to an adult male. Analyses are currently being carried out to determine the age of the bones and tests are being conducted to determine whether they belong to the ancient Macedonian king.

Few other artifacts, broken pottery, mostly from the Ptolemaic and Roman periods, have been found at the site. Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities has so far identified more than 140 unsuccessful searches for the tomb of Alexander the Great, and historians are trying to provide an explanation as to why archaeological searches for one of the most significant historical sites have so far failed. Some historians have even raised the possibility that Alexander’s remains were accidentally stolen from Alexandria by several Venetian merchants who believed they were bringing the remains of Mark the Evangelist to Venice.
