U.S. President Donald Trump has officially revoked the security clearance and access to classified intelligence for his predecessor, Joe Biden.
Trump stated that Biden no longer needs access to top-secret information.
On his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “Joe, you’re fired.”
This was a reference to his famous slogan from the reality TV show The Apprentice.

Trump Cites Biden’s 2021 Precedent
Trump justified his decision by recalling that Biden did the same to him in 2021. At that time, Biden became the first U.S. president in history to deny intelligence briefings to his predecessor.
“Biden set that precedent when he ordered the Intelligence Community to block my access to national security details,” Trump wrote.
Biden’s Memory and Classified Documents Investigation
Trump also criticized Biden, saying he “cannot be trusted with sensitive information.” This comment referred to the Justice Department’s investigation into Biden’s handling of classified documents.
The investigation found no grounds for criminal charges but noted that Biden displayed signs of memory loss. According to reports, Biden:
- Couldn’t recall key life events, including the year his son Beau Biden passed away.
- Forgot the exact period when he served as Vice President under Barack Obama.
Biden rejected these claims at the time.
Biden’s 2021 Decision to Block Trump’s Access
After taking office in 2021, Biden revoked Trump’s access to intelligence briefings, citing concerns over Trump’s unpredictable nature. The decision came after the January 6 Capitol riot, for which Democrats blamed Trump.
At the time, Biden questioned:
“What’s the value of giving him intelligence briefings? What could he possibly do, except maybe leak something?”
Trump’s Classified Documents Case and Dismissal
In 2022, federal agents discovered classified documents at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. He was later charged with willfully retaining classified materials.
However, after Trump’s re-election, the case was dismissed.
Trump Revokes Security Clearances for Biden Officials
Since returning to office, Trump has begun revoking security clearances and protection for key officials linked to Biden’s administration.
Key Figures Affected:
- General Mark Milley – Former U.S. military commander and Trump critic.
- Dr. Anthony Fauci – Led the U.S. COVID-19 response.
- Mike Pompeo & John Bolton – Former Secretary of State and National Security Advisor.
CIA Officials Also Affected
Trump also revoked security clearances for dozens of former intelligence officials, including two ex-CIA directors. These officials had signed a 2020 letter dismissing reports about Hunter Biden’s laptop as “Russian disinformation.”
Later, it was confirmed that the laptop was authentic, containing evidence of:
– Drug abuse
– Prostitution
– Foreign business dealings
