The Princess of Wales has expressed her gratitude, sharing that she is “relieved to now be in remission” from cancer and is “eagerly anticipating a fulfilling year ahead.” She extended her heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Royal Marsden Hospital for their “outstanding” care.
This marks the first occasion Kate has publicly used the term remission to describe her current stage in the battle against cancer, following her announcement of starting treatment in March of last year
A post on social media, signed ‘C’, read: “I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to The Royal Marsden for their incredible care over the past year.
“My sincere thanks go to everyone who has silently supported William and me as we’ve navigated this journey.
“We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The care and guidance we’ve received throughout my time as a patient have been outstanding.”
Reflecting on her treatment progress, she shared: “It is a relief to now be in remission, and I remain focused on my recovery. As anyone who has faced a cancer diagnosis knows, adjusting to a new normal takes time.
“That said, I am looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is so much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support.”
This marks the first time Kate, 43, has used the word remission to describe her current stage in her cancer journey.
Kensington Palace emphasized that she would gradually resume public engagements. The palace described the visit as a reflection of her “personal cancer journey.”
