Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement to cease hostilities in Gaza and conduct a swap of Israeli hostages for Palestinian detainees, according to an official familiar with the arrangement who spoke to Reuters on Wednesday. The deal potentially marks a turning point in ending a 15-month conflict that has severely disrupted life in the region.
With this agreement there will be one of the largest prisoners releases in 21 century and will also allow nearly two million Palestinians living in Gaza to access increased humanitarian aid.
