Vice President JD Vance says pro-Ukraine protesters confronted him while he walked with his three-year-old daughter in Cincinnati. He claims their chants left his daughter distressed.
“A group followed us, chanting ‘Glory to Ukraine’ as my daughter became anxious and afraid,” Vance wrote on Platform X.

To ease tensions, Vance approached the protesters for a brief discussion. “Most agreed,” he said. “The conversation stayed mostly civil, but involving a child in a protest is wrong.”
However, protesters deny his account. They insist the encounter was unplanned while heading to a nearby rally.
Today while walking my 3 year old daughter a group of “Slava Ukraini” protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared.

Video Footage Shows Heated Exchange
A three-minute video shows Vance surrounded by Secret Service agents. Protesters question him about Russia’s invasion and reduced U.S. support for Ukraine.
“We believe ending the war benefits both Americans and Ukrainians,” Vance said in a clip shared by VCPO in Ohio.
Protesters challenge him, saying, “People are dying, and you’ve sold them out.”
“I respectfully disagree,” Vance replied. “Our approach helps find a diplomatic solution.”

Vance Faces Growing Criticism
Pro-Ukraine activists have repeatedly targeted Vance. Many blame him for a tense White House meeting between former President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky. According to The Independent, Vance played a key role in the heated exchange that sparked global backlash.
As U.S. support declines, Russia has intensified attacks on Ukraine. Over the weekend, pro-Ukraine protests erupted across Europe and Washington.
This isn’t the first time protesters confronted Vance. During a Vermont vacation, activists told him to “go skiing in Russia.”
Before his visit, Vermont’s Republican Governor Phil Scott urged residents to treat Vance and his family with respect.
“I hope Vermonters remember he’s here on a family trip with young children,” Scott said. “Even with political differences, we should stay civil.
