A family member of Lance Twiggs has spoken publicly for the first time following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, offering new insight into the aftermath of the high-profile killing and the ongoing federal investigation.
Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, while attending an event at Utah Valley University. Authorities later arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson in connection with the shooting and charged him with multiple felony offenses, including aggravated murder.
Suspect Arrested, Faces Multiple Felony Charges
Police allege Robinson carried out the shooting and subsequently attempted to conceal evidence. Prosecutors have filed seven charges against him, including capital aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and committing a violent offense in the presence of a child.
Investigators say Robinson attempted to hide the firearm used in the shooting, discarded clothing worn during the attack, and pressured others to delete messages and remain silent.
FBI Text Evidence Links Robinson to Crime
Court documents reveal that the FBI relied heavily on text messages exchanged between Robinson and his partner, Lance “Luna” Twiggs, in the hours following the assassination. Authorities say those messages helped establish Robinson as the alleged shooter.
Twiggs, who is transgender, has not been charged with any crime. However, public attention intensified after it was disclosed that Robinson and Twiggs lived together at the time of the shooting.
Lance Twiggs Reportedly Cooperating With Authorities
According to a relative interviewed by Senior NewsNation correspondent Brian Entin, Twiggs was placed under FBI protection for several weeks following Robinson’s arrest.
The family member said Twiggs temporarily left Utah but has since returned and is currently living with family in St. George. She added that Twiggs is cooperating fully with law enforcement.
“He moved out of state for a while, but he’s back now and working with authorities,” the relative said.
Family Member: “They Have the Right Person”
When asked whether she believes Robinson is responsible for Kirk’s death, the family member expressed no doubt.
“100%. They have the right guy,” she told Entin.

Robinson is currently charged with the following offenses:
- Aggravated murder (capital offense)
