The Trump administration has ordered many of top career employees of the USAID (United States Agency for International Development) to go on administrative leave according to few people who were told to leave.
The order was sent via email to members of the senior executive and senior Foreign Service It was issued on Monday with immediate effect, according to few current USAID officials. It comes as USAID and the State Department have been ordered to impose halts on a vast number of humanitarian and related programs around the world.
It is reported that the Trump administration has placed between 57 and 60 senior USAID officials on “administrative leave.” Last Saturday, USAID staff were brought in to help change the way Washington distributes aid around the world, in line with Trump’s “America First” policy.

But an internal memo sent to USAID employees yesterday (January 27) said it had identified several activities in the agency that “appeared to be aimed at circumventing the President’s orders and the mandate of the American people.” As a result, some USAID employees have been placed on administrative leave with full pay and benefits until further notice, pending an analysis of those activities, Reuters reported, citing part of the memo.
Those placed on leave were in leadership positions in USAID’s offices for various project areas, as well as in the agency’s general counsel’s office. One employee described it as “a serious dismantling of the entire agency,” and another said that “people called it the Monday afternoon massacre.”
Enjoy the massacre!!!!
