The explosion occurred in a coal mine in the Alachakaya district of Elazig in eastern Anatolia, Hurriyet reported.
Investigations are ongoing, and initial information suggests a rescue operation is underway to rescue the miners from the buried shaft.
The workers told the media that the incident happened so fast and that everyone were running for their lives not knowing that two people are left behind.
This is not the first incident that happened like In Turkey, few years ago in 2022 there was a fatal explosion that left many injured and dead.
