After few days in office it seems that Trump has an misunderstanding with one of his advisers who is known as Elon Musk.
Elon Musk is casting doubt on President Trump’s first major technology investment announcement and openly questioning the administration he now serves, the New York Times reported.
Yesterday, Trump announced a joint venture between OpenAI, SoftBank and Oracle to invest at least $100 billion in computing infrastructure to advance artificial intelligence, some of which is already underway.
Late at night on his social media X he stated that the government don’t have the money for financing the so called project Stargate.
“They don’t have any money,” Musk wrote in response to OpenAI’s post. “SoftBank has secured less than $10 billion.”
The resignation of Musk, who is one of Trump’s closest advisers and will lead an agency created to cut the federal budget, is one of his first public disagreements with the administration. It is also an unusual move for a senior politician to question an initiative championed by the president.
Trump claimed that A.I. announcement as an early trophy, honoring the decision of companies to spend up to $500 billion to build data centers, which are massive buildings full of servers that provide computing power. Trump has promised to remove regulatory barriers to the development of AI, and make the U.S. the world’s technology leader, beating China.
