On Wednesday morning, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard made public a second collection of classified records—documents that appear to support claims that former President Barack Obama authorized the dissemination of the now-discredited Trump-Russia collusion narrative despite lacking concrete evidence.
These files imply that Obama played a central role in an effort to undermine Donald Trump during his transition to the presidency and throughout the early years of his administration—an effort that contributed to prolonged political instability within the U.S. government.
The timing of the release appears to directly counter statements issued by Obama’s representatives just a day prior, challenging their version of events presented to the public.
The document release was first reported by journalist Nick Sorter in collaboration with Breaking 4 News.
This latest batch follows an earlier release made last Friday, in which Gabbard declassified a December 2016 presidential intelligence briefing. That briefing indicated that Obama was fully aware the Trump-Russia narrative was baseless and allegedly moved forward with it regardless.
A critical section of the new material—specifically page three—suggests President Obama gave direct authorization to publicize intelligence findings while knowing they lacked evidentiary support. The implication is that the narrative was not only politically motivated but strategically deployed to discredit the incoming administration.

The contents of the documents strongly indicate that the former president did more than passively observe the Russia collusion allegations—he may have been the architect of the operation itself.
